Sausage Gravy

Listen to Episode 29: Holiday Brunch

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb loose breakfast sausage (lean), cooked and crumbled into small pieces
  • 1 c milk
  • 2 Tbs flour
  • 1 Tbs butter
  • dash of salt
  • dash of pepper

Directions:

  • Melt butter in a pan on medium low heat. Add flour and whisk.
  • When well-blended, add milk and continue to whisk. Cook over low heat until thick.
  • When thickened, add cooked sausage and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Serve over biscuits.
  • To freeze: Allow to cool, place in a freezer container.
