Créme Fraîche and Crema

Créme Fraîche

Ingredients:

  • 1 c heavy cream
  • 1 Tbs buttermilk
  • Pint jar
  • Cheesecloth

Directions:

  • Mix heavy cream and buttermilk well.
  • Pour into a pint jar, cover with cheesecloth and let sit at room temperature for 24 hours.
  • Move to refrigerator and let sit for another 24 hours before using.

Crema

Ingredients:

  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 c créme fraîche

Directions:

  • Add salt and lime juice to finished créme fraîche.
  • Mix well and let sit in the refrigerator for another 24 hours before using.
